The collection celebrated Rome in its timeless glory

Held against the magnificent backdrop of the Temple of Venus and Roma, Silvia Venturini Fendi paid homage to the late Karl Lagerfeld with a couture show titled The Dawn of Romanity, celebrating Rome in its timeless glory.

Inspired by the metamorphic splendour of marble, the collection takes cues from the mosaics of Caligula’s Nemi ships to the floors of the Domus Tiberiana, which came through in sweeping silhouettes and mosaic-esque prints. Models walked to the live performance of Berlin-based Italian composer Caterina Barbieri in reversible fur coats and sheer chiffon gowns of earthy-pastel shades such as citrine, jade and rose.
