Milan Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Versace Fall/ Winter 2020
Women—and the Versace woman—are multidimensional tour de forces
Donatella Versace proved brilliantly that women—and the Versace woman—are multidimensional tour de forces with Fall 2020. There were plenty of sexy little things, like sheer crystal-studded dresses and sculptural, hourglass-exaggerating micro-minis, but so much more. Little black dresses, power suiting, technicolor prints, and sportswear-inspired puffers and sweaters all had standout moments. It was hard to identify where the nucleus of the collection lay, which felt very much the point. In an age when we're doing it all, all the time, fitting into a box is impossible, much less the goal. For a woman with such a singular name, Versace knows how many versions of oneself need expressing: Those at the show watched as the jumbotron flanking the runway switched over to three long rows broadcasting the many faces of Donatella.
