There is a certain drama to a football match day that fashion understands well. The anticipation, the loyalty, the colours worn with pride, the crowd that rises and falls as one. For Burberry’s latest campaign, titled ‘A Good Sport’, that energy becomes the starting whistle. Shot through with the spirit of the stands, the campaign brings together a cast that spans film, fashion and football, with Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree taking his place on the pitch alongside the rest of the Burberry squad.

For Bright, the connection is not merely aesthetic. A longtime Manchester United supporter, the Thai actor and musician understands football as more than a game. It is emotion, loyalty and shared feeling, which perhaps explains why the campaign’s mood comes so naturally to him. In this conversation with Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore, Bright talks about what it means to be a good sport, why he is mostly competitive with himself, how his style has grown more honest over the years, and the creative chapter he is building next.

The campaign is called ‘A Good Sport’. What does being a good sport mean to you?

To me, being a good sport means respect: for the game, for the people around you, and for the process. It’s not just about winning or losing, but about how you carry yourself in both. A good sport, I think, is someone who stays passionate, humble, and still enjoys the journey.

Are you a competitive person?

Yes, though mostly with myself. I always want to improve, to be a little better than I was yesterday. I don’t see competition as a negative thing. For me it’s good energy that pushes you to grow.

The campaign is inspired by football match day. Are you a football fan, and what do you enjoy about the sport?

Yes, I’m a big football fan! I’ve supported Manchester United since I was a kid. What I love is how it invokes emotions of passion and loyalty, and the way it brings people together. As a fan, you live every high and low with the team and that’s what makes it special. Football isn’t just about the result. It’s about the feeling, the energy, the connection.

Through working with Burberry, what have you come to like about British culture or style?

I love that British style feels classic but never boring. There’s a sense of heritage and elegance, yet it can also be relaxed and effortless. Working with Burberry made me appreciate that balance even more—how something traditional can still feel modern and relevant.

How has your personal style changed as your career has grown?

I think my style has become more refined, and more honest to who I am as a person. When I was younger, I explored a lot of different styles—some good, some not so good—as I tried to understand what suited me. Now, I feel more confident with pieces that reflect my personality. Often, it’s something simple, but with character.

What is one item in your wardrobe that always makes you feel confident?

A good jacket. The right one can change the whole attitude of a look. It gives you confidence and a certain presence, without having to try too hard. Comfort and confidence always come first. Even if something looks good, I have to feel like myself in it. The best style, to me, is when you wear the clothes naturally and not when the clothes wear you.

What has been exciting you creatively these days?

Music is exciting me a lot right now. I’ve been building my own world as an artist not only through sound, but through visuals, storytelling, and performance. I want to create something that feels personal, cinematic, and emotionally honest.

When you think about yourself at the start of your career, what would younger Bright be most surprised by today?

I think younger Bright would be surprised by how far life has taken me. In the beginning, I was simply trying to do my best with whatever was in front of me. I never imagined that one day I’d be working internationally, representing Thailand, and getting to express myself on this level. I’m very grateful.

What can fans look forward to from you next?

More music, more creative projects, and a clearer version of who I am as an artist. I’ve been working on something that feels very personal to me, and I want to keep growing not only in Thailand, but on a global stage.
