Remember when the entire world of sports lost its mind because Tom Brady announced he was retiring? Well, he just took it back.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback tweeted Sunday that he's not done with the NFL after all.

"These past two months I've realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it's not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible," he wrote. "I'm coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG."

Fans and friends quickly reacted to the news in the comments section, as did Brady's wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

"Here we go again! Let's go lovvvey! Let's go Bucs!🔥," she wrote on his Instagram post.

Brady's ex Bridget Moynahan also celebrated the athlete in her own Instagram post. "Thank God, I had no idea what I was going to do with my Sundays. Congratulations @tombrady, so proud of you!" she wrote.

Brady—who has won seven Super Bowls—initially announced his retirement in February, writing in a long message on Instagram, "I played for the name on the front of my jersey and the name on the back of my jersey. I played for my friends, my family, and our community - every single one of you - that have given me what I have today."

At the time, Bündchen praised his decision in a post of her own and voiced how proud she was of his endurance over the years and his commitment to the game.

"I know how excited you are about the next chapter of your life. Watching you work so hard in your football career and seeing the dedication you are now putting into all your new endeavors is incredibly inspiring," she wrote.

It's unclear what led Brady to take back his decision to retire, but the football community is clearly excited for his return.

"He's back," the NFL tweeted Sunday.

Though Brady spent most of his career with the New England Patriots, he will return with the Bucs.

"We are thrilled that Tom has decided to come back this season," Jason Licht, the general manager of the Bucs, said in a statement. "We said we would leave all options open for him should he reconsider his retirement and today’s announcement is something we have been preparing for in recent days."

"Tom Brady loves to play football as much as anyone I have ever been around. As Tom said, his place right now is on the football field. He is still playing at a championship level and was as productive as anyone in the league last season. We are ecstatic that he decided to continue playing and working toward winning another championship," Bruce Arians, the Bucs' head coach, added.
