An Exclusive Look At The Making Of Chanel X Pharrell's Short Film

Williams talks breaking boundaries and expressing the unisex spirit

Longtime collaborator of Chanel and multi-hypenate Pharrell has given us a number of sneak peeks of the highly-anticipated Chanel-Pharrell range, following his announcement of the collaboration during Chanel’s Cruise 2018/19 Replica Show in Bangkok. The musician and producer recently took to Instagram to tease the upcoming collaborative release with clips of a short film, which features Williams and an ultra-cool gang out on a nocturnal road trip.

In this BAZAAR exclusive, discover the capsule collection film—filled with optimism, positivity, rich colours and energy—and delve into the world of Chanel-Pharrell with this behind-the-scenes video, where Williams talks gender fluidity, celebrating individuality and breaking boundaries. Clad in a streetwear-inspired, electric rainbow wardrobe of colourful hoodies embellished with CC, N°5 and Coco embroideries, block colour tees, blinged-out jewellery, bucket hats and white sneakers with mismatched laces, the fearless girls and boys starring in the short film also share their thoughts on working with Pharrell and their favourite pieces from the collection.

In Williams' own words: “This film is about a capsule collection, something that they’ve never done in the history of the brand. They do that not with a designer, but with a musician, with ambition and dreams. And dreams come true.”

The capsule collection will be unveiled on March 29, 2019 in celebration of the opening of Chanel’s new flagship boutique in Seoul. The range will be available at selected Chanel boutiques around the world from April 4, 2019. Check back soon for more updates.
