As another fashion season winds down, we round up the top breakout stars of Fall/Winter 2019: the girls that no one can stop talking about.
1. Mona Tougaard
17-year-old Mona was the winner of Denmark’s Elite Model Look competition when she was just 15, and this season, she caught everyone’s eye-opening Loewe’s Fall/Winter 2019 show. The dark-haired beauty stuns with her delicate features and moody gaze, landing her runway gigs from brands the likes of Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
2. Ling Chen
Joining the emerging crop of hugely popular Asian models (think Mulan bae and Hoyeon) is Ling Chen, a face you would remember out of a 100. Ling has been taking both the runway and editorial world by storm with her symmetrical features and ability to make any ultra-wild concept visually pleasing.

4. Ugbad Abdi
Somali model Ugbad Abdi is one of the biggest breakout stars of the year, and for good reason. The 18-year-old is 6 feet tall and has the runway presence of a superstar, with unforgettable features to boot. Besides making history as the first hijabi model to ever walk for Fendi this Fall/Winter season, Ugbad has many prestigious gigs under her belt, including opening for Marc Jacobs in New York.

I just don’t even know where to begin with this one. I’m literally speechless. The energy in this room was like none other. Walking for @fendi @silviaventurinifendi and being the first hijab wearing woman to do so is just so incredibly unbelievable in itself but the fact that I walked in @karllagerfeld last collection with Fendi is…. words could never describe how I felt being so fortunate enough to walk in Karl’s last creations alongside such strong and incredible women. The fact that so many people including those who’ve never met Karl like me were so touched and inspired by him tells you how much of an icon he is. You will be missed by many, Rest easy 🖤
5. Hannah Wick
The Australian beauty thanks her part Sri-Lankan ancestry for her runway success: she has walked for brands like Dior and Miu Miu within her first year of modelling professionally. Her striking features and statuesque figure aside, Hannah is a proud advocate for diversity and inclusivity in the fashion industry, and we’re keeping our eyes peeled for her in the months to come.
