After stealing everyone's eyes and ears with a whimsical fashion show at Milan Fashion Week in late February, Gucci is ready to conquer Paris Fashion Week for its Spring Summer 2019 collection in Paris.

Marco Bizzarri, Gucci President and CEO, said: “Gucci is a global brand with deep and vibrant Italian roots and a visionary French shareholder, Kering. We have chosen to present the show on Monday, September 24th, the transition day between Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks to avoid impacting schedules."

If the move to Paris seems totally random, Alessandro Michele wants to stage his show as a continuation of a three-part narrative of his French-inspired homage to the country that invented liberté, egalié and fraternité. While Paris Fashion Week is merely four months away, Gucci's Cruise 2019 fashion show will take place on the Promenade Des Alyscamps in Arles in May 30th. Prior to the announcement, Michele released a Pre-Fall 2018 campaign, which is inspired by the May 1968 student protests in Paris.

Despite its temporary exhibition in Paris, Gucci will return to Milan Fashion Week starting from February 2019.
