Jennifer Lopez knows how to dress up for the most casual occasions. While out in L.A. yesterday, the entertainer was photographed in a monochrome look that made us rethink our go-to outfits for errand runs. (This is J.Lo we’re talking about, after all, and mundane simply doesn’t fall into her style register.)

The singer was seen in an uber-chic, dusty pink silk top and matching trousers, which she sported under a sleek blush-hued wool coat. It was tonal dressing at its finest; the way she combined different pieces in the same color family was a masterclass (*chef’s kiss*). She also accessorized the look with the Hutton shoulder bag by Coach, of which she is a brand ambassador.

It’s not the first time this month that the Marry Me star has done the tonal thing. On Sunday, she wore a wine-colored cropped sweatshirt with dark red leggings while breaking a sweat at the gym. She also used a Hermès Himalayan Crocodile Birkin as a gym bag (because obviously). That same weekend at the same gym, Lopez wore a hot-pink hoodie and matching sweatpants, which she accessorized with a light-pink shoulder bag by Valentino. We are clearly seeing a pattern in her style choices, and we are totally here for it.
So, if you’re looking to spruce up your style in the New Year, take a page from Lopez and try combining different tints of the same color.
