Lingling Kwong Is Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore’s November 2025 Cover Star
Step into a fashion wonderland this month.
I’ve always loved the idea of curiosity. It’s a tug towards the unfamiliar, the strange and the beautiful that you can’t quite point your finger at. It’s what drew me to fashion in the first place. The thrill of discovery. The delight of asking why, when and how does this trend work, and why are we obsessed about it?

This issue is built around that very impulse—a modern cabinet of curiosities filled with pieces and people that spark wonder. After all, in a world obsessed with explanation and certainty, mystery feels like one of the last bastions of luxury.
On the fall/winter 2025 runways, that sense of seeking took shape in silhouettes that conceal as much as they reveal—think Stella McCartney’s pleated Grecian gowns with a million folds to hide your innermost secrets. Or Calvin Klein’s sculptural coats that envelope you in cashmere cosiness. In “What Lies Beneath”, we explore how fashion’s seduction has shifted from obvious showiness to covered intention. Mystery seems to be having a real fashion moment.

In “The Look of Love ”, we see curiosity turned inward—the rebirth of romanticism in menswear. There’s Valentino’s lace shirts, Dior’s opera coats and Jacquemus’ ankle-length skirts that catch the wind just so. These aren’t costumes of old-world drama, but quiet experiments in emotion an dcraft. Proof that strength and sensitivity can coexist in the same beautiful form.
Our cover star, Lingling Kwong, understands that duality. She’s luminous yet private, with that rare ability to reveal just enough. Her work, like her beauty, invites you to look closer. And in “The Art of Being Kyle Kuzma”, we meet a sportsman equally intent on discovery—of self, of purpose, of meaning beyond the spotlight.

So yes, this issue is about fashion, but more than that, it’s about the art of wondering and discovering, and seeking the magic in what can’t be explained.
Because maybe the point isn’t to be a know-it-all. It’s to stay curious and to keep asking why.
