Paris Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Valentino Fall/ Winter 2020

A new pared back direction

For Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli demonstrated a new pared back direction with an array of strong black looks opening the collection. The usual billowing fabrics gave way to clean tailoring in double breasted blazers and coats and dress sillouettes that skimmed the body, celebrating black. The focus becomes that of the wearer and their personality. With unabashed plays on transparency, intricate embroidered details and deep v necks, the feel was unmistakably sensual and feminine. There was also menswear interspersed in the lineup, extending the theme of the uniform to both genders.
