Valentino Unveils A Sultry Partnership With Author Betony Vernon

Over a decade ago, Valentino debuted what would become one of its most recognizable house codes across all design categories—the Rockstud. Editors, insiders, and the innately stylish, alike, instantly flocked to the point-toe strappy pumps and tote bags embellished with the cone-shaped hardware—making the collection a hit for years to come. Now more than a decade later, the maison is unveiling a super-sexy partnership with jewellery designer-turned-erotic-author, Betony Vernon that shows the signature details in an entirely different light.
As a sultry love-letter dedicated to the storied embellishment, Valentino's Rockstud Alcove project is shining light on the collection of accessories that made the assortment so popular in the first place. Creative Director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, along with Vernon, a longtime friend of the maison, joined forces to highlight the line's appeal, which includes a mirrored peep box for customers to view the pieces from every angle.

"To enter the world of the provocative a mysterious peep box has been conceived to secretly admire these new objects of desire in a bizarre game of voyeurism: a play of glances and mirrors, inside and outside, cracks to peek through without being seen," the brand explained about the kinky release. "This concept continues in the dedicated windows pursuing the dualism of observing and being observed."

For those that are hoping to experience the Rockstud Alcove for themselves, Valentino's partnership with Vernon includes the special re-issuing of her "essential pillow book for men and women", The Boudoir Bible–complete with a custom sleeve fit with the collection's logo. The display and the books will be available at a select group of erotic bookshops in Paris, Madrid, Milan, London, Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul, which according to the brand are much more than just shop locations– they're also art galleries and creative and cultural spaces.
