We entered into the Grand Palais among meandering tiers of seats that that were an extension of Chanel‘s iconic black and white. This was a more grown up collection, showing creative director Virginie Viard‘s confidence. There were athletic elements with clip down pants made lux with Chanel gold buttons. The house codes of tweed and strong black and white appeared in sexy split skirts and frayed finishes that were almost fur like, finished with pattern tights with the brand logo, and equestrian references with riding hats and fold down riding boots. A theme of female comradery came through as models walked side by side, at times chatting nonchalantly. Was this Puss in Boots with a touch of French je ne sais quoi that is so Chanel?
