Hailey Bieber doesn't plan to grace a runway any time soon.

Though the model and street-style star regularly graced runways from her 2014 debut to late 2018, she has not appeared in a fashion show since December 2018, when she walked in Versace's Pre-Fall 2019 presentation. In a new Allure interview, Bieber revealed the reason she has taken a break from runway modelling.

While Bieber previously felt a sense of pride from walking runways as a five-foot, seven-inch model in demand, she told the outlet about the negative experience that made her take a step back from the catwalk.

"I had a really bad experience with a casting director who was very important," she said. "He said something to my agent that just shook my confidence when it came to the runway. I don’t want to feel bad about myself in this space because I feel really good about the other work that I do. So why would I even put myself in a position to feel small?"

Since the model's last runway show, she's continued her successful print modeling career, gracing several magazine covers (including Harper's BAZAAR's May 2021 cover) and serving as the face of recent Miu Miu and Jimmy Choos campaigns. Her chic street style and many Saint Laurent formal looks are also the subjects of regular headlines.

For her latest career move, Bieber will debut her skincare brand Rhode this June, telling the outlet that her inaugural products will focus on maintaining the skin's moisture barrier. The model opened up about her process creating the products, including taking online dermatology classes and speaking with other beauty founders including Hyram Yarbro, Charlotte Palermino, and Kim Kardashian.

"I’ve given it to a lot of different makeup artists to try on their clients and I’ve gotten really good feedback on it," she said of her products.
