If like us, you’re not able to make it to Coachella this year, fear not! There’s another music festival happening right here in Singapore that’s just as exciting. Organized by Red Spade Entertainment, the Skechers Sundown Festival is programmed to celebrate all things Asian, and promote its values and spirit through music, food, art, and culture. Spanning over 3 days and 2 nights, the festival features all Asian acts with artist from 11 countries and has evolved from just music to include many other components to bring the festival experience up a notch for all festival goers. BAZAAR spoke exclusively with Kelvin Goh, co-founder of Sundown Festival to find out what you can expect at this year’s event.

Which artists can we look forward to seeing this year?

Festival goers can look forward to a buffet spread of the most diverse genre of music happening across three stages over the three days with over 50 artists. For eDM lovers, fans can look forward to DJ Soda, Laidback Luke, Henry Fong, Shogun, Tokimonsta and many other Asian DJ's from the region. We are especially excited for Hoaprox, Vietnam’s top DJ’s first performance at the festival. He will perform on day three to open the stage for K-Pop heavyweight iKON.

Fans of rock and pop music can look out for Big Ass from Thailand, Crossfaith from Japan, MFBTY from Korea, and Higher Brothers representing China. We are also very excited to have a strong lineup of local talent like Charlie Lim, DJ KoFlow, Shigga Shay, LIONCITYBOY, and many more.

How has the music festival scene evolved over the last few years?

In our opinion the music festival scene globally has become much more immersive. Audiences are looking for a total experience, they no longer just want to see their favourite artist perform. That is why for Sundown Festival we have a camp site setup over the 3 days to create a festival community vibe with our audience.

What is it festival goers are looking for?

An exciting lineup of headliners and good times with fellow music lovers. As organizers, we also believe that the intangible and unexplainable core experience that festival goers are looking for, is to be part of something purposeful and to seek connection with like-minded community at the festival.
