Nearly a month after announcing their plans to tie the knot, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released their official engagement portraits last night. Kensington Palace shared two of the romantic photographs last evening, which were taken by Alexi Lubomirski at Frogmore House, Windsor earlier this week.

The palace shared another photo of Harry and Meghan, arm-in-arm and smiling, to thank everyone for their well wishes. "The couple are so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives," the palace wrote on Instagram. "As a way to say thank you, they have decided to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you."

The one is so stunning we can't even believe it's a candid.

Harry dressed up in a navy suit and tie, but Markle's look really steals the show. The former actress wears a Ralph & Russo couture ball gown with a sheer top covered in gold leaf embroidery and a frothy tulle skirt. (One can't help but wonder if the "Markle Effect" will be just as strong with couture pieces.)

The true star of the photos, however, is the engagement ring, which features a center cushion-cut stone from Botswana (a nod to the couple's intimate vacation together) and two diamonds from Princess Diana's personal collection flanking it.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding is set for 19 May 2018 at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.
