Yesterday the Duchess of Sussex turned 38 and tributes all over the world have been flooding in but one in particular proved particularly special. Prince Harry took to Instagram to wish his wife happy birthday and shared a photograph of her beaming with delight.

Uploading the picture of her in Tonga, which was taken during the couple’s first official royal tour together in October 2018, he simply wrote: “Happy Birthday to my amazing wife. Thank you for joining me on this adventure! - Love, H” and fans were quick to join him in congratulating the Duchess.

But, he wasn’t the only royal to publicly send well wishes. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also posted a picture of Meghan on Instagram alongside them, Harry and Prince Charles, which was taken at the Christmas Day church service in Norfolk last year, and wrote: “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today!” accompanied by a red balloon emoji.

It’s thought Meghan will be spending the day privately at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor alongside her husband and son, Archie. A change from last year, she spent her 37th celebration attending the nuptials of Prince Harry's close friend, Charlie van Straubenzee, in Surrey and the year before that, it’s thought Harry whisked her off to a luxury camp in Botswana when it was still unknown that the pair were officially dating.

A huge year of change, this marks her first birthday as a mother after announcing she was pregnant in October and welcoming her son to the world in May. But she’s also been busy professionally too. The former actress has attended countless charity and public events, put her hand to many projects and even announced that she’s bringing out a clothing line in collaboration with the UK charity, Smartworks, alongside John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Misha Nonoo and Jigsaw.

We wonder what her 38th year will bring.
