Staying true to my peranakan roots, I love the high tea set from Violet Oon which reminds me of my halcyon days of youth. Having a cup of Earl Grey with granny after school, Ah Ma plying me with her kueh kosui and sugee cake, I’m reminded of those happy memories. Today, you can tuck into a splendid mix of scones and homemade jam, mixed in with kueh pie tee and mini otak otak.

I've never forgotten the service I got at The Canary Diamond. A couple of years back, I went into the store with my grandmother's ring to get it reset and they spent an hour chatting with me on my options because I wasn't sure of what I wanted to do. It was friendly, sincere, and with no pressure to do anything at all. I recommend them to all my friends.

Tiger Balm is my favourite holistic alternative. I’ve used this since I was a child for bug bites, stomach aches, and nausea. The bottle is small enough to toss in a handbag for on-the-go relief.

Yakun. Nowhere else does kaya toast and traditional local coffee better than them.

It's really hard to pick a favourite as there are more and more Singaporean beauty brands that have been raising the bar and offering great products, but my favourite would really have to be RE:ERTH. They have been consistently formulating efficacious skincare products that show results. I love their newest launch – the Illuminating Concentrate – which fades existing pigmentation and prevents new ones without harsh ingredients.

I love Toast Box especially its Kopi Peng Siew Dai (iced coffee less sweet) and curry chicken sandwich. What a sinful thing to start your day.

For someone who's avidly looking for tropical-friendly menswear in fun colours and prints, The Prefecture has been paradise. Its founder Mr 'Q' also does really great classics in fabulous fabrics, so it's really a one-stop-shop for tropical tailoring. Bonus? If you can't find what you're looking for, he'll be more than happy to make it for you.

There's so many great local brands out there that are making waves in the retail scene but one of my favourite local brands that truly resonates with me has to be In A Perfect World, as this girl loves teaming an outfit with a classy pair of dangly earrings. Promising contemporary designs that can be worn no matter the season is a clear testament as to why I'm a huge fan and the reason why I continue wearing their jewellery. Right now, I've been in love with the new sterling silver range that's launched in collaboration with one of their many content-creators, Sophia Ippoliti. So pretty and practical that it's on my shopping wish list.

In Good Company is run by local designers Sven Tan and Kane Tan who have mastered the art of sophisticated menswear essentials. Who doesn't love clean-cut staples and some utilitarian trousers?
