Quadruple the people, quadruple the chaos. In January this year, Netflix announced in a press release that season three of the hit cooking show will feature a “bold, team-based format” rather than individual chefs facing the heat. The new concept will see teams of four chefs from the same restaurant battling it out to bring their restaurant glory.

If you loved the challenges seen in seasons one and two respectively, fret not—more is on the way. Studio Slam will continue producing the series and the directors, Kim Eun Ki and Wi Jae Hyuk, have been confirmed to return.

Judges Baek Jong Won and Anh Sung Jae, the dynamic duo we’ve become so familiar with over the course of seasons one and two, may not make a reappearance for season three.

While their absence in season three is still a rumour, the pieces seem to add up. Firstly, there’s no confirmation of Baek and Anh being judges in the coming season to date, when in the press release for season two (released as season one was airing), where the chef and the entrepreneur hinted at their comeback in season two as they “expressed high expectations” for the new season.

Moreover, in the press conference for season two last December, producer Kim Hak Min shared that the production team is taking the recent controversy with Baek seriously and keeping viewers’ feedback in mind. Baek’s food and beverage company Theborn Korea has been accused of mislabelling their food products, amidst violating other food laws, though several Korean news outlets have reported that Baek and his company have been cleared of such charges.

It’s not much longer till we’ll be reunited with the Korean cooking show. According to Netflix Korean slate for 2026, the third edition of Culinary Class Wars will show in the last quarter of the year. It’s worth noting that this information was last updated in January this year and is subject to change.

The first batch of episodes for season one aired in mid-September and season two premiered in mid-December, so we’ll at least see more teasers for season three soon.
