This Is How Team BAZAAR Plans To Spend The Long Weekend

With the long weekend just around the corner, many of us here at TEAM BAZAAR are just as excited as you are to take a good, well-deserved break from work. From what I've heard through the grapevine (or rather in the many conversations we've shared), some of us are using this weekend to rejuvenate, travel and even, soak in the Deepavali and Halloween activities.

Here's what our team had to say when we asked them what they're up to this long weekend.

“I’ll be crazily prepping for the Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Awards later next week so it’s some spa pampering time for me at Epion Clinic where I’ll get my face prepped with the Epion Star Medi-Facial to get me runway ready for the big event this Wednesday!” — Kenneth Goh, Editor-In-Chief

"I am definitely heading over to The Dessert Museum at Plaza Singapura before it ends its run on 27th October. Filled with pastel-hued, saccharine sweet dessert-centric decoration and activities, my 3-year-old daughter is sure to get a real kick out of it. (My husband not so much but too bad!)" — Charmaine Ho, Executive Editor

"Being out in nature, away from the chaos of my daily life is the best way to spend my long weekend. I will be going on a hike in the great outdoors and enjoy the serenity at the Southern Ridges. It has one of the best spots to enjoy panoramic views of the city, harbour and the Southern island. I especially like the beautiful structure of Henderson Waves, its artistic, wave-like structure consisting of a series of undulating curved 'ribs', it is also the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. The Forest Walk and Canopy Walk aren't to be missed. There is a rich variety of flora and fauna and observe birds in their natural habitat. I believe walking gets the creative juices flowing far more than sitting." — Daphne Tso, Senior Art Director

"Out of our usual weekend visit to the Singapore Zoo, me and my two toddlers are going to check out Disney: Magic of Animation exhibition at ArtScience Museum. The plan is to spend the afternoon and evening at Marina Bay. After looking at the artworks and sketches of some of our beloved cartoon characters, we can then sit under the Supertree Grove to enjoy the light display." — Windy Aulia, Creative Director

"Long weekend, yay!!! I will be planning to chill at home to glasses of homemade lemonade tea, lots of snacks and bingeing on Netflix shows. There are some which I haven't caught up with yet, like Stranger Things Season 3 and also The Umbrella Academy." — Sean Tan, Associate Editor

"Together with my husband, I'll be going back to my home city, Jakarta. Besides all the food that I'm going to eat, the highlight of the trip will be the Backstreet Boys concert that we'll be catching on Saturday! What better way to spend the long weekend than have my partner beside me while five other good looking men serenade me with songs from my youth." — Stephanie Gracia, Associate Art Director

"I'll be rewatching old Pedro Almodovar movies at The Projector while waiting for his latest, Pain & Glory, to come out next week." — Jeffrey Yan, Associate Fashion Director

It's always quality time spent with family and friends over the weekend, and it's no different this weekend! However, it's my husband's birthday this Sunday, and we'll be going on a little date (handing over our baby over to family) at Gardenasia. It'll be nice to dine and spend a day amongst nature after a whole week of hustle and bustle—can't wait! — Gracia Phang, Fashion Stylist

"It's one of the few weekends I'm actually double-booked (versus zero plans) for Deepavali celebrations, so the main activity will be eating lots of hearty, spicy Indian food. The rest of the long weekend will be spent recuperating and recharging for our upcoming Harper's BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award night happening next week, with the help of mmerciencore's calming essential oil elixirs, Sulwhasoo's rejuvenating face masks, and the Peaky Blinders." — Dana Koh, Beauty Editor

"I'll be in Batam for a close friend's bachelorette party. Looking forward to a fun-filled weekend of beach-bumming, go-carting and hearty BBQ cookouts!" — Shermin Ng, Senior Digital Writer

"Long weekends are for indulging. The next three days will probably find me curled up on the couch binge-watching the latest K-dramas, and feeding my meat and seafood obsession at Wang Dae Bak and OnHand Agrarian's FIRE Festival—in celebration of Deepavali and also as a farewell to the urban farm atop Shaw Towers at Beach Road." — Stephanie Yeong, Contributing Sub Editor

"On Saturday, I'll be attending Baby Boy's Night of a Thousand Yonces with Ievan, where we'll be catching Drag Race Thailand winner, Angele Anang live in action. Besides a performance by the famed Beyoncé impersonator, Anang will also be the judge of a drag lip-sync competition, hosted by Singapore's very own, Vanda Miss Joaquim. The rest of the long weekend will most likely be spent binging on Golden Bell Award best television series, The World Between Us while nursing the effects of all the alcohol I would have drunk while partying."— Donovan Quek, Graphic Designer.

"I'm sure you've heard from Donovan, but I'm going to the Baby Boy: Night Of A Thousand Yonces party too. Definitely looking forward to catching all the lip-sync battles!" — Ievan Darwin, Contributing Digital Writer

"I'm planning on spending my extended weekend being a culture vulture at Mucciaccia Gallery, where twenty-seven artworks of American artist David LaChapelle are being exhibited. LaChapelle is known for creating highly-conceptualised high fashion photographs for fashion publications. But his visit to Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel in 2007 left him inspired to pursue a different creative direction in his subsequent works. And I'm curious to see first-hand the dreamscape he's created." — Navin Pillay, Contributing Digital Writer

"This weekend, I'm actually attending a good friend's 21st Birthday Party at The Honest Project, which is an up-and-coming event space. She's sent out her invites and the theme's an All-American Diner. I've found her present but I have yet to find the right outfit that'll be perfect for her party." — Margaux Levy, Contributing Digital Writer
