Nothing beats a good brunch with your close friends and family at the end of a busy week. Fortunately for us, almost every neighbourhood in Singapore has a café that serves up an assortment of egg dishes, buttery pastries, English breakfast with all the fix-ins, and booze.

While most cafés are known for great coffee blends, some offer other beverages to satisfy the non-caffeine drinkers. From bottomless mimosas and artisanal coffee to delectable morsels, here are our favourite cafes and restaurants for brunch.

1. Marymount Bakehouse

Singapore’s first sourdough-focused bakehouse started as a home-based kitchen in 2020, known for its intricately scored loaves and cult following. Today, Marymount Bakehouse is a cafe dedicated to pushing the limits of what sourdough can be. This isn’t your standard neighbourhood brunch spot, it’s your one-stop-all for tasty sourdough treats.

The menu is a love letter to texture and tang, where you’ll find shakshouka bubbling with smoky nduja and roasted pepper purée, glossy baked eggs slipping into sourdough flatbread like it’s their second skin. The Monk’s Hog Yolk focaccia is chewy, dripping in bacon fat with hot honey and melt-in-your-mouth cheese. Hand-cut sourdough pasta stars in dishes like the Boatman’s Orecchiette with clams and tiger prawns, and the Drunken Chicken Pie is laced with Shaoxing wine, truffle crème and mushrooms under a buttery levain crust that flakes like we dream all pastry would.

Marymount Bakehouse is located at 421 Race Course Road, Singapore 218668. For more information, visit its website.

2. Lean & Rich

Tucked into a quiet spot at UE Square, Lean & Rich is a sleek little bakery run by a Korean baker formerly of Tartine in Seoul. True to its name, the menu is split between lean doughs, made with just flour, water, salt, and yeast; and the rich ones, enriched with butter, eggs, and sugar. It’s minimal, clean, and mouthwatering for all pastry and non-pastry lovers alike, with an open kitchen where you can watch the laminating happen.

On the plate, things get even better. The Morning Platter sets the tone, with sourdough, soft-boiled egg, whipped butter, cheese, and sticky fig jam all coming together like a breakfast dream. Caponata & Burrata layers smoky eggplant relish and creamy cheese over a chewy sourdough base, finished with pine nuts for a crunch.

On the rich side, croissants are done with precision and flair; the pistachio one hides a nutty cream centre, while the ham and cheese is loaded without feeling greasy. Everything tastes intentional: flaky, fragrant, and just sweet (or savoury) enough to keep you coming back.

Lean & Rich is located at #01-14 UE Square, 81 Clemenceau Ave, Singapore 239917. For more information, visit its Instagram.

Perched atop Holland Road Shopping Centre, Frankie & Fern’s is a rooftop cafe that feels like your second home in a bustling town. It channels warmth into its space, with wooden furniture, fairy lights, and even a dollhouse for children. It’s relaxed, sun-drenched, and just the kind of spot you’ll want to linger at all morning.

Its take on a big breakfast pairs creamy scrambled eggs with smoky pork fennel sausage, roasted portobello, rosemary-pickled tomatoes, thick-cut bacon and kale with crumbled feta on toasted sourdough. The Roasted Short Rib Toast serves a slice of sourdough with tender short ribs and slathered with Russian dressing, chimichurri, chilli-pickled cucumber and provolone. Even the sides have flair, like almond hummus with olives and sun-dried tomatoes, or crispy Brussels sprouts with jalapeño cream cheese. Every detail—from the food to the warm, airy interiors—makes this a place you keep returning to.

4. Pancake and Waffle Place

Tucked away in a discreet row of shops at Arab Street, Pancake And Waffle Place is the place to be if fluffy pancakes and crisp waffles are your thing. The muslim-owned restaurant is known for its spread of indulgent iterations of breakfast foods like pancakes, waffles and croissants.

Its specialty lies in its creative, unusual flavour combinations—one of which is its bestseller, the Lemak Duck Pancake, which features smoked duck perched atop a bed of pancakes and topped with lemak chilli padi sauce. For something less daunting, try the Pulled Beef Benedict Waffle, where braised beef short-ribs are served in a tomato brown sauce, topped with a poached egg. If you have a sweet tooth, try the sweet pancakes, namely, the Banana Caramel pancake. It’s layered with salted caramel cream, toasted walnuts, and bananas before it’s drizzled in even more caramel. Wash it all down with a cool soda-based mocktail.

Pancake and Waffle Place is located at 56 Kandahar Street, Singapore 198904. For more information, visit its website.

Every hour is brunch hour at Brunch Club by The Halal Corner. The cafe is a halal brunch spot that doesn’t compromise on taste or aesthetic. Serving up brunch classics all day long, it’s mastered the art of good food and good vibes. Its Signature Chicken Cordon Bleu Benedict is a fan favourite for a reason: the chicken is crispy, the egg oozy and the combo tastes even better than it sounds. Another standout is the lighter but no less satisfying Smoked Salmon and Avocado Toast. It’s a brunch staple done right, with bright flavours on a colourful plate.

With five outlets scattered throughout the island, Merci Marcel has cemented itself as the go-to spot for casual French fare. Its Orchard branch is by far the buzziest, and it’s easy to understand why. The space is nestled in the quieter corner of Palais Renaissance, where the vibe is very South of France, but in Singapore.

If you’re in need of a midweek pick-me-up, the restaurant’s brunch menu—served from 8am to 4pm across all outlets—will hit the spot. Try the Marinated Crab Tartine, which pairs juicy crab chunks with avocado and mango on toasted sourdough, or the Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio, served chilled with shaved parmesan and arugula.

9. Mosella

Set within the glassy confines of Pan Pacific Orchard, Mosella makes a strong case for dressing up for brunch. After all, its seasonal Brunch Voyage is no ordinary midday affair. It’s a rotating culinary experience that changes every quarter with the current July to September 2025 edition drawing inspiration from the sunny coasts of the Mediterranean, but with a chic French twist.

There’s a live oyster bar, a butcher’s charcuterie board, a quiche station, and carving counters stacked with wagyu beef and lamb. But it’s the hot Mediterranean plates that seal the deal: the Cabernet Sauvignon-braised beef cheek with orange and carrots is tender and deeply flavourful, while the chicken stew in Chardonnay with thyme and creamy mushroom veloute is a dish you’d want on a slow weekend afternoon. At $118++, this buffet may be a splurge, but it’s worth it.

For those who like a sweet treat, the croffles come layered with mixed berries and melting scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. The Wagyu ciabatta sandwich, loaded with smoky beef, jalapeños and Gruyère, is messy in the best way, while its take on avocado toast is freshened up with feta, poached eggs and the option of smoked salmon. The food is just as inviting, guided by warmth and a love for simple Italian flavours. Polenta fritters come golden and crisp with thyme honey, while the pistachio and mortadella sandwich balances richness with bite. Pastas are full of flavour, like the pesto di cavolo nero or clam and tomato tossed with kaffir lime. The signature hotcakes, served with house jam, is made for long brunches. End on the mulberry olive oil cake or dark chocolate mousse, both simply, satisfying, and perfect for sharing.

Tolido’s Espresso Nook has been a Crawford Lane mainstay since 2013, serving up solid coffee and comfort food without the frills. Inspired by Melbourne café culture but proudly local at heart, it’s the kind of place where brunch is big, conversations are loud, and everyone is there for a good time, and not just an Instagram shot.

The Smoked Bratwurst Rösti is a crowd favourite; golden, crisp, and served with a sunny side-up egg that’s more photogenic than it needs to be. The 462 Prawn Laksa Pasta brings the heat, heft, and juicy prawns, while the Pandan Pancakes with Gula Melaka sauce is soft, fragrant and just the right kind of sweet. It’s comfort food made for lazy mornings and long catch-ups, all in the heart of Lavender’s sleepy old-school charm.

A dish worth trying is the lemongrass pork banh mi: served with salad, lime aioli, arugula and mustard maple dressing, it’s a brunch plate that’s deceptively simple; packing complex flavours that somehow all work together. If dining in the restaurant isn’t for you, order a picnic box to go and head down to the beach.

The coffee beans are sourced from plantations in Brazil and roasted at Compound Coffee Co. in Singapore.

What’s better than dim sum for brunch? An all-you-can-eat dim sum buffet, that’s what. Madame Fan’s “Dimsum, Drink Sum” promises a “harmony of East meets West”, with dishes that reflect the sentiment and free-flowing champagne, wine, cocktail, and beer for two and a half hours. While $108 might seem steep for small dishes in bamboo baskets, Madame Fan elevates these Cantonese staples with contemporary shapes and ingredients such as black truffle, Kurobuta pork and Boston lobster that makes this meal worth the trip.

Some standout examples of fusion food on the menu include the chilli crab meat with crispy toast and Australian striploin served with Sarawak black pepper sauce. The former reimagines a local classic in a Western context, while the latter marries premium cuts with the earthy heat of Borneo’s prized pepper.
